Included Modules

A number of modules are included in DNN by default and can be added to your site.

Note

For security reasons, some modules might not be available to you. Examples:

  • Premium modules might not be enabled for all sites. The host user must enable a premium module for your site before it can be used.
  • Modules that perform administrative tasks require Administrator access by default.
  • Hosts and administrators can customize which roles have access to a module.

icon Authentication Allows administrators to manage authentication settings for sites that use Windows Authentication. Admin
icon DDR Menu Provides a basic navigation structure. Admin
icon HTML / Text Renders a block of HTML or text. Common
icon Journal Displays a list of activities related to a user or a group in reverse chronological order. Also enables the user to post an entry. None
icon Member Directory Displays a member list that can be filtered, sorted, and searched on. None
icon Message Center Allows registered users to send messages to each other. Admin
icon Module Creator Assists in the development of basic modules. Developer
icon Razor Host Allows the site to handle scripts written in the ASP.NET Razor programming syntax. None
icon Registration Allows an administrator to register a user on the site. Admin
icon Search Results Displays the search results. Admin
icon Sitemap Produces and displays a sitemap for the site. Admin
icon Social Groups Allows registered users to view, create, and join social groups. None
icon View Profile Displays the user profile. Admin
